ACTAIS: Overview

In modern societies, interest in security is growing regarding access to enclosures, in particular ports and airports where European Directives (ISPS code) have required entrance and exit controls.

It is also increasingly present in sites where controlling the transit of persons and goods is fundamental.

Our experience in the world of attendance control is extensive, having implemented successful solutions for different public and private companies.

All of our knowledge and experience in access and attendance control has been condensed into the ACTAIS system (Access Control - Time & Attendance Information System).

It is in the area of access control that we reach a highly technical and complex nature due to the necessary interaction with the vastly different elements of the field. ACTAIS AC is our access-specific module.

The project: Engineering and design

No two projects are the same. Ecocomputer studies the requirements, interests and factors of the current and future conditions of the client to draft the project that starts off by questioning all aspects to be considered.

Posts, interphone stations, pedestrian access terminals and, in general, all user-interaction elements are products of development and engineering and thus are adaptable to the client’s and facility’s needs.

So, if posts are required for RFID card readers or data display or capture screens, the system is modular and allows for the display at double height (car and lorry) of the elements that the interface executes with user.

The modularity allows us to increase the access system for cars to access to elevated vehicles by simply availing of an additional body following removal of the overhead guard.

Architecture of the ACTAIS system

The ACTAIS is a multi-layered design and is made up of independent elements that interact amongst themselves via its own information exchange protocol. This highly modular architecture allows us to integrate new elements, devices and manufacturers, modifying the specific driver affected and guaranteeing a high performance and operation level.

From a user perspective, the system is made up of a Front Office ACTAIS application, through which the system operator manages the points of access, supervises the alarms and executes the access approvals or denials.

The ACTAIS system is highly configurable, allowing the system behaviour to be changed at any time by a user with an advanced profile.

The system also avails of a module for mobile devices that allows the management of an access door and the validation of system alarms.

All of the ACTAIS system modules contain an automatic update agent that keeps the software updated with the latest version, greatly reducing system interruption times and the associated maintenance costs.

Functions of the ACTAIS system

ACTAIS AC incorporates all of the functions resulting from future system implementations. Due to the fact that it is our own system in its entirety, we are able to incorporate your requirements at a highly competitive price and within short periods.

ACTAIS AC FrontOffice - Operator Application

This is the module used by the access service operators. The entire facility is shown on a general plan, which allows us to access the condition of each door. Accesses in each path are indicated from each access door and if blockades occur, interaction with the user is allowed via telephone.

It is possible to construct a personalizable display panel with those doors of interest or competence of an operator. Said configuration values depend on the user that may have managed them.

ACTAIS AC Visitors - Management of visits

ACTAIS AC Visitors allows the integrated management of visits that external personnel may make to the facility. The visitor identifies themself in the control cabin or access the ACTAIS AC Visitors web module, providing the relevant information so that their vehicle or the actual user as a pedestrian may be authorised for entry into the facility.

The use of the electronic DNI (Spanish National Identity Card) allows for a very simple operation where the user only needs to use their own DNI to both accredit themself and to access and leave the facility.

If the client chooses to use visitor cards, the exit posts will have automatic visitor card baskets that require the visitor to leave the card in the basket in order to leave the facility.

ACTAIS AC Waste - Management of recycling centres

ACTAIS AC Waste is the version of the application for managing access to the recycling centres of local or municipal companies operating for this purpose.

The system-user access the facility identifying themself via a citizen card or their own DNI.

The system also allows the management of both individuals and companies. In this case, the users assigned to a certain company may identify themselves via a RFID card or via recognition of their license plate.

Following identification at entry point, both individuals and companies indicate, via an exterior TFT display, what waste and in what amount is going to be deposited in the recycling centre.

The system permits the definition of waste and deposit amounts in the different recycling centres owned by the Council or local company. The amounts may be expressed in units, weights and volumes.

The amounts may be set at a daily maximum for each recycling centre, or for all recycling centres.

Communications distributed

It is not necessary for the facility to be connected to the client’s LAN or WAN network. M2M communications allows data transmission between the access door and the BackOffice system to be carried out by 3G devices that include VPN connections, for a full guarantee of the transmissions.
